Once upon a time, there was a farmer who sold a pound of butter to a baker.
One day, the baker felt like checking if he was getting the right amount of butter.
After checking he found out that he hadn’t received the right amount of butter.
Baker got upset about this and decided to take the farmer to court.
In court, the judge asked the farmer if he used anything to measure the butter.
The farmer said,
“Your Honor, I am simple. I don’t have a fancy tool, but I do have a scale.”
The judge was confused and asked, “So, how do you weigh the butter?”
The farmer explained,
“Your Honor, way before the baker started buying butter from me, I used to buy a pound of bread from him..,
Every day when the baker brought the bread, I would put it on the scale and give him the same weight in butter. If someone is to be blamed, it’s the baker.”
Moral of the story
In life, you get what you give. Don’t try to cheat others.
